Gem of the Day

A Third Grader comes up to me and we have the following conversation:

Third Grader: I'm sorry, I said a bad word.
Me: What was the word?
Third Grader: It was the "E" word.
Me: (after thinking a minute) Euphemism?
Third Grader: (whispering) Idiot

    did he think that idiot started with the letter "e"? or was he suggesting that you, in fact, are an idiot for thinking he said euphamism? i LOVE your blog!!! :-)

    She thought that Idiot started with the letter E. In her defense, I think she was a Spanish speaker, so I can see where she would think that. "I" makes and "E" sound in Spanish.
