I Bet You Didn't Know This Historic Tidbit

According to Charlie, Abraham Lincoln is buried under his elementary school. He got this piece of information from a trusted classmate.

I just wanted to give you all a head up, in case you wanted to buy a commemorative mug or something.

Charlie is now playing school in the shower. When I told him it was time to get out, he said: "Oh come on! I'm trying to teach my kids stuff!"

Earning Extra Money

Shawn and AJ took a reffing class and are now official referees. As you can tell by the picture, AJ was not thrilled by posing for this, but I am sure he will thank me when he is reffing the World Cup one day.

Malachi's Birthday

One of Charlie's best buddies had a birthday party last weekend. I don't mean to brag, but Charlie totally owned the corn hole game.

Matilda's First Birthday

Our friends Matt and Nicole had a fun party for their daughter Matilda. A lot if people from the neighborhood were there and it was a fun time.

Matt even found some beer named Matilda. As someone who owns every children's book with the name "Charlie" in the title, I understood his excitement.

The Birthday Boys

One us 6 and one is 85, and you can tell that the apple does not fall far from the tree.

I Love Living Here

We have a farmers' market here every two weeks, within walking distance from our house. I bought some real chocolate croissants from a woman with a French accent. Does life get any better?

Charlie: ___ likes girls.

Me: Do you?

Charlie: Kinda, but you're my favorite.

I Said Banana Bread, Not Brownies

Me: Do you want to make banana bread with me?
Charlie: Yeah! I love being baked.

This motorcycle gang was probably wondering why I was following them for 5 miles, until we passed them and they saw the 6 year old, in the back seat, waving at them like a loon.
