Gem of the Day

Tomorrow is Dr. Seuss's birthday. So, I am doing a Green Eggs and Ham project with the younger crowd this week in class. The kids decorate paper plates, and then they have to cut out green eggs and bacon from construction paper and glue them onto the plate.

So, I was passing out the materials in a second grade class. I hand a student the pink paper with the bacon drawn on it for her to cut out.

Second grader: Do I have to use the bacon?

Me: Well, the ham is part of the story. Why don't you want to use it?

Second grader: I have a pet pig.
