Shawn's Trading Card
(If he actually had one)
Shawn is in an adult soccer league that plays on Saturday nights. Charlie and I went and cheered him on tonight. To be honest, we didn't spend a whole lot of time at the actual game. There was also a playground and a splashpad at this park. Enough said. But we were there to witness Shawn's first goal of the season, so that was exciting.

And While I Was Out There. . .
Tuesday, August 24, 2010
The kids were fighting over balloons we had from the shower. So, after telling them to stop fighting, and stop yelling and stop running around, I brought Mean Mom out and started popping them. I told them if they couldn't play with them nicely, no one was playing with them. I thought my plan was working until Charlie started handing me balloons and squealing "Pop it! Pop it! " Sigh.

Deborah's Baby Shower
One of my dearest friends, Deborah (Yes, the one that was suppose to move, but didn't. The move got canceled 12 hours before the moving truck was to arrive.), is about to become a mother of 5. But here is the thing: Because her husband's job requires them to move a lot, she has NEVER had a baby shower. Ever. Can you believe it? So, we threw one for her.
Deborah's only request for the invitation was that I had to come up with some type of poem that explained that even though this was her 5th baby, she had never had a shower. So this is what I came up with:
"It is never too late for a mom's first shower
Let's gather and honor Mommy Power!
With all the moving, it got missed
So, with #5, let's not be remiss
Come help us celebrate! "
Here are some pictures from the event (at my new house):

Scenes From The Move
There was a lot of this. Up and down the ramp. Luckily we had some friends (Brittney, Brandon and Lauren) who were able to help us out. And we seriously could not have done it without them. And to prove my point, after the help had to go home, it was up to me to assist Shawn move heavy things, like desks, down stairs. And that did not go well. The desk is now in pieces in our garage.
There was a little bit of this. But, luckily not too much. My friend Deborah was nice enough to watch the kids for 2 days straight while we got the stuff moved over and the old house cleaned up. So, that made life a whole lot easier.
Don't tell AJ, but this is how we transported the guinea pigs to the new house. The cage was so large, we couldn't close the back door. We drove at about 5 mph the five blocks to the new house. They made it just fine, don't worry.
This is Zac making a nest in the packing paper pile. Like most cats, Zac has a thing for paper. He could be in a room completely empty except for a singe piece of notebook paper on the floor, and that is where he will choose to sleep. So, when he saw this pile of paper in a corner, he was in heaven.
On a side note, Zac did not so much as put a nose out the front door this time. I think he learned his lesson from the last move.
So all adults, children, cats and guinea pigs made it safely to the new abode. And we are slowly getting unpacked and settled. It feels a little more like home every day.

We Are Moved!!
We got ourselves moved this past weekend. I am seriously getting too old for this. My back hurts. My knees hurt. My feet hurt. But, we are moved. And I have unpacked about 80% of the boxes already. Why the rush? I decided to have a party tomorrow night and then host a baby shower on Sunday. I am not sure what I was thinking, but it is motivating me to get the unpacking done.
The house is very nice and has a beautiful view with a pool. We totally lucked out. The neighbors are friendly and we are in walking distance to everything on Main Street. This particular floor plan, which I swore I would never live in, is actually working out well. I stand corrected.
I will post pictures as soon as I can get that process to work. I put the cord thingy in the camera thingy that is attached to the thingy by the computer, and nothing happens. Maybe the hamsters that run my computer died in the move. I have no idea. I will have Shawn look at it when he gets a chance. The smartest thing I ever did was marry a man that knows something about computers.
I should probably go and unpack something. I will post pictures when I can.

AJ The Chef
Moving in AZ
This is what you get when your house is full of cardboard boxes in AZ. I, being a complete girl, called Shawn who was on his way home to tell him about it. Meanwhile, I stood across the room as if the scorpian was actually going to do a back flip, and land on my head. It could happen.
Shawn took care of it, as he does all large bugs. I've said it before and I will say it again. I am pretty sure bug killing was listed in the marriage vows.

A Letter to The Tooth Fairy
I found this letter when I was packing up my desk today. AJ was six when he wrote it. Allow me to translate:
"Dear Tooth Farey
Thank you for your doller. You must be tired form going all over the ward dilivering money. So I, AJ (last name) is sending you a picher and a letter. "
The picture is of the tooth fairy and AJ sleeping in his bed.
